When I need a nice soft surface to run on, when recovering from a race or injury, I enjoy running the fairways of a golf course near my home.   I take care to avoid running on tees or greens.  I also run the golf paths around all par 3’s.  When I run all 18 holes, this run is about 6.5 miles, including the run from and to my house.   It makes for a good fast hour run in the morning before work.
