From Joel Gurvine: In November of 1992 Elder Ken Anderson and I were called to open the small town of Santa Cruz to the preaching of the gospel. After getting settled into our new apartment, praying for the Spirit's guidance, and tracting for two weeks the Lord saw fit to bless us. My journal entry for 15th November 1992 reads,"Yesterday we taught a sweet first discussion to Mrs... McKenzie, and her children Dwight, Andrew, and Aldene. Dwight and Aldene came to church today and said they loved it.

Nov.19th 1992. "This evening we went to visit with the McKenzies and found that Mrs... McKenzie had read to Jacob, Aldene 2nd Nephi. Now we come to find out that their father, Roy, had found a Book of Mormon in a hotel he stayed in, read it, and took it home to Jamaica and now know that it is true!"

On December 13th 1992 Dwight, Andrew, and Aldene were baptized in the Manville chapel. Two months later Mrs... McKenzie followed and was baptized in the Caribbean, Jamaica's warmest font. Soon there after Roy McKenzie was Baptized in Grand Cayman, were he worked, and later became Branch president in the Caribbean, Jamaica's warmest font. Soon there after Roy McKenzie was Baptized in Grand Cayman, were he worked, and later became Branch president there. The Lord truly does work in marvelous ways.

Also in 1991 we were permitted by the Cayman government to send two missionaries there, but I believe that they were not allowed to tract or some thing like that. I couldn't find details about it.
